It’s big. (ඒක ලොකුයි.)

It’s comfortable. (ඒක සුවපහසුයි.)

But …….. I don’t know. (එත් .... මම දන්නේ නෑ.)

The walls. (බිත්ති ටික.)

This chair. (මේ මේසය.)

Everything. (හැමදෙයක්ම.)

David:   Move the bed. (ඇඳ එහාට කරන්න.)

Helen: Where? (කොහාටද?)

David:   How about under the window? (ජනේලය යටට මොකද?)

Matt:    Put the hi-fi on the chest of drawers. (හයි ෆයි එක තියන්න ලාච්චු මේසය උඩින්.)

David:   Put the chair in the corner. (පුටුව තියන්න කොණේ.)

Helen: I don’t know. (මම දන්නේ නෑ.)

Jane:     Why don’t you paint it? (ඇයි ඔයා ඒක පෙඉන්ට් කරන්නේ නැත්තේ?)

Helen: Paint what? (මොකක් පෙඉන්ට් කරන්නද?)

Jane:     Paint the room. (කාමරය පෙඉන්ට් කරන්න.)

Helen: I don’t know. (මම දන්නේ නෑ.)

I’m not very practical. (මම එච්චර ප්‍රායෝගික නෑ.)

I don’t like paining. (මම කැමති නෑ පෙඉන්ට් කරන්න.)

I’m always too busy. (මම හැමවෙලේම කාර්යබහුල වැඩියි.)

I don’t have time today. (අද මට වෙලාව නෑ.)

I have a lunch appointment at one o’clock. (මට තියෙනවා ලන්ච් අ'පොඉන්ට්ම'න්ට් එකක් එකට.)

It’s impossible. (ඒක කරන්න බෑ.)

Jane:     Can we do it for you? (අපි ඒක ඔයාට කරලා දෙන්නද?)

Helen: Really? (ඇත්තට?)

David:   Yes. (ඔව්.)

Matt:    Yeah. (ඔව්.)

Helen: Are you sure? (ෂුවර්ද?)

Jane:     Of course, we’re sure. (ඇත්තටම, අපිට ෂුවර්.)

David:   What about the colour? (පාට මොකද?)

Helen: Oh. I don’t know. (අනේ, මම දන්නේ නෑ.)

Something nice. (ලස්සන මොනවහරි.)

Jane:     Now, don’t worry. (දැන් ගණන් ගන්න එපා.)

You go out. (ඔයා එළියට යන්න.)

Enjoy your lunch and leave it with us. (ඔයාගේ දවල් කෑම භුක්තිවිඳින්න සහ ඒක අපිට තියන්න.)

Helen: Thank you. (ස්තුතියි.)

Jane:     OK. (හරි.)

Let’s go and buy some paint. (අපි ගිහිල්ලා තීන්ත ටිකක් මිලට ගමු.)

Matt, do you want to come? (මැට්, ඔයාට එන්න ඕනිද?)

Matt:    Yeah. (ඔව්.)

Jane:     Do you want to get dressed? (ඔයාට ඇඳගන්න ඕනිද?)

Matt:    Oh. Right. (ආ. හරි.)

Helen: There is a DIY store here. [DIY (Do It Yourself)කඩයක් තියෙනවා මේ ලඟ.]

Jane:     Where? (කොහෙද?)

David:   Not on this road. (මේ පාරේ නෙවෙයි.)

Jane:     Ask someone. (කාගෙන්හරි අහන්න.)

David:   Hang on. (ඉන්න.)

Excuse me. (සමාවෙන්න.)

Is there a DIY store near here? (මේ ලඟ DIY කඩයක් තියෙනවද?)

Man:     Yes. (ඔව්.)

Go straight on. (කෙළින්ම ඉස්සරහට යන්න.)

Turn left at the roundabout. (වට රවුමේදී වමට හැරෙන්න.)

Go down the road, (පාර දිගේ යන්න,)

and it’s on the right, (සහ ඒක තියෙන්නේ දකුණු පැත්තේ,)

next to the supermarket. (සුපර්මාකට් එක ගාවට.)

David:   Thank you. (ස්තුතියි.)

Matt:    How about this? (මේක මොකද?)

Jane:     Black? (කළු?)

Jane:     There are some really nice colours here. (මෙතන ලස්සන පාට ටිකක් තියෙනවා.)

Oh, look. (ආ, බලන්න.)

This is lovely. (මේක ලස්සනයි.)

How much is it? (ඒක කීයද?)

Sixteen pounds forty-nine. (පවුන් 16 යි 49 යි.)

David:   Gosh! (අම්මටසිරි!)

That’s expensive. (ඒක ගණන් වැඩියි.)

Jane:     Hey, Matt! (හේ, මැට්!)

This is the same colour as your T-shirt. (මේක ඔයාගේ ටීෂර්ට් එකේ පාට මයි.)

It’s gorgeous. (ඒක හරිම ලස්සනයි.)

What do you think? (මොකද ඔයා හිතන්නේ?)

Matt:    Yeah. I like it. (ඔව්, මම ඒකට කැමතියි.)

David:   How much is it? (ඒක කීයද?)

Jane:     Eleven pounds ninety-nine. (පවුම් 11 යි අනූ නවයයි.)

How many do we want? (අපට කීයක් ඕනිද?)

David:   Two. (දෙකක්.)

That’s twenty-three ninety-eight. (ඒක 23 යි 98 යි.)

Twenty-four pounds. (පවුම් 24 යි.)

That’s OK. (ඒක අවුලක් නෑ.)

Jane:     Now, are there any rollers? (දැන්, රෝලර් තියෙනවද?)

David:   There are some over there. (ටිකක් තියෙනවා අන්න අතන.)

Jane:     What do you think? (ඔයා මොකද හිතන්නේ?)

Matt:    It looks great. (පේන විධියට නියමයි.)

Jane:     I love it. (මම ආසයි ඒකට.)

David:   It looks interesting, (පේන විධියට අමුතුයි.)

but good. (ඒත් හොඳයි.)

I like it. (මම ඒකට කැමතියි.)

Matt:    Finished? (ඉවරද?)

Jane.     Yes. (ඔව්.)

Thanks. (ස්තුතියි.)

I really like this colour. (මම ඇත්තටම කැමතියි මේ පාටට.)

Matt:    Me too. (මාත් කැමතියි.)

David:   The room looks great. (කාමර පේන විධියට නියමයි.)

Here she is. (මෙන්න එයා එනවා.)

Helen: Hello. (හෙලෝ.)

Jane:     Hi, Helen. (හායි, හෙලන්.)

We’re up here. (අපි මෙහේ උඩ.)

Helen: Can I go in? (මට ඇතුලට යන්න පුළුවන්ද?)

David:   Yep. (ඔව්.)

Jane:     Welcome to your new bedroom. (පිළිගන්නවා ඔයාගේ අළුත් කාමරයට.)

Helen: Oh, Matt. (අයියෝ, මැට්.)

Your T-shirt! (ඔයාගේ ටීෂර්ට් එක!)

Matt:    What? (මොකක්ද?)

Helen: The colour. (පාට.)

It’s horrible. (ඒක හරිම නරකයි/කැතයි.)

Helen: Oooh! (ඌ!)

Helen: Next time, Helen, don’t ask for help. (ඊලඟ පාර, හෙලන්, උදවු ඉල්ලන්න එපා.)
